A Beautiful Reflection

looking over at his smiling eyes

a reflection of me

as the sun says goodbye

perched in the meadow

listening to the aspen

a beautiful place

amidst the tall grasses

a lucid dream

so time spent with him seems

with him

or with me

its all the same

but i do like the energy

that circulates back to me again and again

a pure love

as pure as one might find

of two people coming together

without attachment

one and one is one when we unite…

A Time for Reflection

its amazing how in the desert

with such a lack

the reflection seems to be so clear

so in your face

no looking around it

not a chance

no distractions here

you are here with you

i am here with me

thats all there is

time for reflection

uninterrupted

without distraction

time for reflection

in a drought ridden land

something from the outside

one would never guess

unless one is within…

… you need to look back

I found this article from Outsider Online.

As Johnson explains it, Kelly Slater started riding new high-performance boards in the 1990s that were ridiculously thin and narrow. Slater, who’s known as”the Freak” for his extraordinary surfing abilities, could ride these boards with flair, but lots of other surfers couldn’t. Then the fish and other retro styles made a comeback. “You jump on there and suddenly you can glide again,” Johnson says. “I think about this in terms of music or anything: Sometimes things progress to the point that it’s not really progressing anymore. You get to this dead end, where you need to look back.”
